Atlas Facilities Maintenance, Inc. was originally founded in 1995 under the name of Cleaner Image Maintenance, Inc. In its nearly 30-year history, many things have changed, everything from our company name and logo to our ownership structure, from the tools we use to many of the people who perform the services we provide, from the regions of the country where we have coverage to the range of services that we provide. However, there is one thing that has maintained its steadfast legacy in our company and that is our purpose and our core values.

The Atlas Name
Our guiding principle is embedded in the company name. In Greek mythology, Atlas was a Titan who was responsible for bearing the weight of the heavens on his shoulders. Like Atlas, we believe our company and our people are responsible for bearing the burden of our customers’ worlds, their entire buildings and everything within them.
But there is another, more important reason why the company bears this name, which has to do with the novel Atlas Shrugged, penned by Ayn Rand in 1957, which had a profound impact on the company founders and who espoused the philosophical principles described in the book and by Ayn Rand herself. Her philosophy “in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute.”

Our History
1995
Cleaner Image Maintenance, Inc. was incorporated as an Oregon corporation. Started with commercial janitorial and window cleaning services.
1997
Cleaner Image Maintenance, Inc. was incorporated as an Oregon corporation. Started with commercial janitorial and window cleaning services.
1998
Awarded the 14th Largest Maintenance Company in Oregon.
1999
Cleaner Image Construction was started. Winner of the Business Integrity Award. Awarded the 10th Largest Maintenance Company in Oregon. Won the Service Provider of the Year Award.
2000
Cleaner Image Supplies was started, which had its own retail stores. Acquired Best Building Maintenance. Awarded the 27th Fastest Growing Company and the 7th Largest Maintenance Company in Oregon. Nominated for the National Torch Award.
2001
Cleaner Image Floor Care was started. Acquired Caesar’s Cleaning Services and Sparkle’s Cleaning Services. Awarded the 33rd Fastest Growing Company and the 3rd Largest Maintenance Company in Oregon. Winner of the Top 10 Growth Award. Winner of the Business of the Month Award. Winner of Customer Service Award. This was the Company’s record year with over seven million square feet serviced.
2002
Sold Cleaner Image Construction. President nominated for 40 under 40 Award. Winner of the Gold Award (Young Entrepreneur’s Organization.) Winner of the Top 10 Growth Award.
2003
Included in the Inc. Top 500 Growth List. Awarded the 33rd Fastest Growing Company in Oregon. Named to Oregon Leadership Forum.
2004
Sold Cleaner Image Supplies, Cleaner Image Floor Care and Cleaner Image Carpet Care. Nominated for the Fastest Growing Company in Oregon. President named to Portland Business Alliance. Nominated for the Top 10 Growth Award.
2005
Sold majority of the commercial janitorial accounts. The Principal/Founder of Cleaner Image Maintenance, Inc. started a sister company – Orion Corporate Services, Inc.
2013
Cleaner Image Maintenance, Inc. and all the janitorial accounts of Orion Corporate Services, Inc. acquired by Artemis Capital, LLC.
2014
Consolidated Cleaner Image Maintenance, Inc. and Orion Corporate Services. Rebranded as Atlas Maintenance Facilities.
2020
Atlas restructured the management team and brought on a new leadership group, with the renewed sense of growing the business. The new team is duly focused on expanding the current business and increasing services for the future and beyond.
2024
Atlas has significantly broadened its footprint, successfully acquiring more than 100 commercial accounts spanning across 16 states. This upward trajectory demonstrates our sustained growth, a trend we are committed to maintaining in the coming years.
