The Challenge

The Solution
Understanding the unique needs of MPROC, Atlas devised a comprehensive cleaning strategy tailored specifically to the demands of a healthcare facility dealing with oncology patients. The plan included rigorous training for janitorial staff on the correct use of EPA-approved hospital-grade disinfectants and the implementation of enhanced cleaning protocols to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and safety.
The cleaning procedure began with the meticulous emptying of trash receptacles and replacing of liners, followed by the vacuuming of all carpeted areas using commercial-grade vacuums equipped with HEPA (high efficiency particulate air) filters to capture fine particulate matter. Special attention was given to disinfecting horizontal surfaces and equipment, particularly the parts of radiation machines that come into direct contact with patients. Staff used pre-soaked disinfectant towels for cleaning, a method that reduces the risk of airborne particles and ensures a thorough cleanse. To prevent cross-contamination, used towels were immediately isolated and processed separately.
To further refine the cleaning process, Atlas introduced an innovative method where cleaners carried bags of pre-soaked disinfectant towels, streamlining the workflow and enhancing efficiency. The final steps included detailed mopping of vinyl floors and comprehensive cleaning of bathroom areas.
To ensure consistency and maintain the highest standards, the Atlas Operations Manager conducted regular inspections and feedback surveys with the MPROC team.
